How the Gay Ban Compounded the Sexual Abuse Crisis, with Brian Knappenberger

A conversation with the director of the new Netflix documentary “Scouts Honor."

In this episode of the Morally Straight Podcast, I’m talking to Brian Knappenberger, the director of the recent Netflix documentary “Scouts Honor,” which tells the story of the Boy Scouts of America's decadeslong cover-up of sexual abuse cases.

We talked about the BSA’s many past failures in leadership on this issue, and how the organization’s decision to ban LGBTQ+ members was not only a distraction—but compounded the problem of sexual abuse in the ranks.

And if you’re interested in my own thoughts on the film, you can read them below.
