This badge is a tricky one. It's now included as a nod to SJW, CRT and the ilk. While diversity and acceptance that others different, I think it belittles the typical scout that already is tolerant and respectful just by the mere following of the rest of the scouting program. The Scout Oath and Motto cover this badge. Always remember, equality of opportunity does not mean equal outcomes which is a Marx principle.
This is a pointless badge that will inspire no one. It will repulse boys with its requirements to share emotions and feelings, teach no one who is not already convinced, and add nothing to those who already are. The requirements are banal and repetitive.
This could have been a fabulous badge. It's a repulsive disappointment, and being required for Eagle will simply drive hundreds of thousands more youth out of scouting.
I think JH hits it on the head. The scouts in our troop and not excited to complete this badge and view this checking the box, as there is no "merit" in this badge. The counselors were instructed to let the boys lead the discussions and to not interject their own opinions. On the positive side, it did motivate 2 kids to motivate and complete their Eagle before it was required, so I guess its not all bad.
I concur that the kids are way ahead of a lot of adults in their diversity awareness. It's been a delight to teach the badge. I hold 6 virtual sessions and send out 5 Google Forms as worksheets. That covers all 11 requirements. I've enjoyed having parents or grandparents sit in and listen to their kids' amazing responses and solutions. I love that every aspect is tied to the Scout Oath and Law.

Your attitude is why this is needed. Please let me know what Troop you belong to so I make sure mine avoids yours.
